Dual Enrollment Students

Jeff State Dual Enrollment

Deadline to register online for Fall 2023 semester is April 28th. You must see Mrs. Ball & Mrs. Marbury by April 24th for scheduling purposes and turn in all required paperwork by April 24th so it may be submitted on time.

The fee for DE classes taught at Ragland is $456. If the DE class is online or at Jeff State, the cost is $492. Can be paid online or may go to the campus and pay with cash, check, credit/debit. Fees are not accepted at the school.


Students must make a qualifying score on the ACCUPLACER exam or submit ACT scores in order to take English or Math courses.


Requirements

  1. Students must have a 2.5 GPA (unweighted) or higher
  2. Student in grade 10th, 11th, or 12th
  3. Must maintain a C or better

10th Grade - Eligible for History 201

11th Grade - Eligible for History 202 & English 101 (must have an English composite of 18 on the ACT or take the ACCUPLACER with Jeff State & score at least a 5 or higher).

12th Grade - Eligible for English 102


Application Process

  1. Complete an Online Application
  2. Submit the Dual Enrollment Course Approval Form to the Counselor with parent/guardian signature
  3. Submit the Program Approval & Release of Records Form to the Counselor
  4. Provide a copy of an unexpired photo ID
  5. Submit an official transcript (counselor will complete this upon request)
  6. Take ACCUPLACER if needed

Gadsden State Dual Enrollment

Some Dual Enrollment Career Technical programs qualify for ACE Scholarship Applications. Link can be found below. Due May 1st. See qualifying list here


Students must make a qualifying score on the ACCUPLACER test in order to take classes in English, Math, or Computer Science. Seniors must take an ACCUPLACER or submit their ACT score regardless.
